PCC clears real estate transaction in Cebu

The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) has cleared a proposed transaction involving Furusato Land Corporation and the subsidiaries of YYJR-RU Real Estate and Properties Corporation. The transaction pertains to Furusato Land’s acquisition of a 50 percent interest in 14 parcels of land located along Banilad Road, Cebu City.

Following its review, the PCC found no indication of competition concerns and noted the presence of other major and local developers in Cebu City, which serve as sufficient competitive constraints to the parties involved.

Furusato Land is a subsidiary of Arthaland Corporation, a publicly listed company engaged in real estate development and leasing. YYJR-RU Real Estate and its subsidiaries are domestic corporations. 

The PCC’s clearance supports continued competition in the real estate sector, affirming the presence of sufficient competitive constraints in the market. It also enables strategic growth for the parties involved, consistent with the Commission’s mandate to promote fair and efficient market outcomes.
